Making the choice

When peace eludes us and anxiety seems to rule our hearts and minds we have a resource to use and a choice to make.

Listen to the great WISDOM God offers to us in Colossians 3: 15-17…

Colossians 3:15, 16,17

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Do you hear it?

God invites us to LET the peace of Christ RULE in our hearts….. it’s what we are called to.

W - Walk with God – thank Him and choose to look at your world with eyes filled with thanksgiving.

I - Interrogate God’s word – keep it close and ask God to speak to you as you read it.

S - Share what He teaches you - encourage one another with the wisdom from His word.

D - Delight in Him - keep gratitude singing in your heart.

O - Open your heart -  keep listening even as you do your daily tasks - he will speak to you

M - Make it a habit - give thanks and praise him everyday.

Do you see how thankfulness and gratitude are mentioned 3 times!  We so often need the reminder!

Put that attitude along side the priority of the Bible and maintaining encouraging friends and everything you do and say will be revolutionized!

Follow God’s wisdom. Choose today to LET peace RULE in your heart… and be amazed at the difference it will make.

Be blessed as you go.

Warmly,
Gail

Hi Gail, this is a good reminder for me.  It’s been busy for the last month with a trip to Northern Ireland and then the birth of our daughter’s son Dylan so a trip to see them also.  And of course, it’s back to work time.  How easy I let Jesus and the Bible drop out of my agenda.  I will follow what you have pointed out in Colossians, and I will pass it on to my daughter and her husband.  By the way, thank you very much for sending me your book; it’s encouraging for my sister that I share it with.  Have a wonderful day.

I found this site by accident, well maybe not, God is in control.  It is so difficult to live life sometimes.  To keep faith.  To keep on keeping on.  Thank you for the encouragement.

Hi PJ,

It is interesting how God directs us to encouragement when we most need it. I’m glad you dropped in!

It’s been almost a month since you wrote and I am just now getting back to the website after summer scheduling.

I hope you are visiting often and finding God’s love calling your heart home to HIm.

Talk to Him every day and listen back as you read. Find a few others on their faith journey and share the journey together.

God bless you.

Warmly,
Gail

Dear Gail,    Today I found your devotional site. I enjoyed reading some of the classes and I think it really helped to feed my soul. God bless you and keep up the good work.  I also try to “feed the sheep” with my music and bible classes on CD.
I do not go to church but I have some christian friends and we try and do the Lord’s will the best we can, I sing and play the guitar in Japan.    Much love in Christ,  Philip

Keri and Philip Welcome here and thank you for your comments.

Please visit often.

I pray that God will bless you both and use you to bless many others.

Philip, may God inspire your music in fresh and amazing ways and open many doors for you to share this love there in Japan.

Isn’t it neat how the internet provides these opportunities to connect over the miles!

Take care.

Warmly,
Gail

Dear Gail,    I read your devotional about loving even those who “slam the door” on you. That spoke to my heart and made me want to be more like Jesus, and have more patience and tolerence.  Keep up the good work!  Philip

Hi Gail,

I get such encouragement out of your writing, but wish so badly to have a copy of your book when I don’t have my computer with me.  I can’t seem to find it anywhere.  Is there somewhere I can get a copy and I have lots of friends I want copies for too.
Your sister in Christ,

Sandi Bentz

Sandi and Susan, thank you for your great encouragement! You have blessed my heart today!

My book is sold out and I am just contemplating another publishing run. When it is available I will put it on this site.

Thanks so much for spurring me on in getting that done.

May God bless you both today and may you feel encased in His presence in as you walk.

Warmly,
Gail
